General
HM Drums are handmade in all production steps.
Beginning from the choice of wood, assembly of Shell (glueing), surface finishing to the drilling and the final assembly.
It is essential, that the natural colour of wood is gooing to be conserve.
By request we also offer variation in coulor for the finishing process.
The surface is processed in wood oil. The finish consists of plain hard wax, which is polished by  lambskin (the outcome of this is a silk-matt brightness).
There are no bounds depending on the customer's requirement for the Lugs, Hoops, Mounts,  skins.

Shell
All Shell are exclusively handmade. Due to the oil-wax method the characteristics of sound and vibrancy in the Shell are unaffected.
This means oiled Shell have better qualities thanvarnished ones.

Motivation
I'm a better craftsman than a drummer and from time to time i was toying with the idea of building a 14“ FLOORTOM for my old drumset (Luxor , ca 50 years old).
So i shut my self away in my workshop to experience in fall 2007.
My apprenticeship as joiner and my master craftman's title are helpful hereby.
Finally i build a 14“ FLOORTOM made of damson-wood. You can find a picture of it here.
From the beginning on the solid- and barrel-construction method was the one and only method for me. Because the sound of these sets are just extraordinary and also sound better than multi-layer SHELLS.  As well as the optical characteristic.
With this motivation i started to try to build a whole set.
My buddy Reiner Blum (drummer teacher) gives me some excellent advises for the composition.
